| Hold your Bristol conference at hotels and venues in this historic maritime city with its state-of-the-art business and meetings locations and facilities...
Conferences in Bristol are a perfect location in this city with a thousand-year history as a port and the sea which reflects what drives Bristol. Alongside the echoes of seafarers past are the sounds of a vibrant young cit. Bristol is, perhaps, best known for the Clifton Suspension Bridge, created by that great Victorian engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel, who was also responsible for other of Bristol's best-loved features, such as his great iron ship, the SS Great Britain and Temple Meads old station, the terminus for the Great Western Railway. Docks were built at the mouth of the Avon in the 1870's and Bristol grew as an industrial centre. Well known for the construction of aircraft, including Concorde, at Filton, it became an important post-war industry. Bristol is also the home of Rolls Royce. Today, Bristol is a large commercial centre, and has developed into one of the most popular cities for business relocation. It has also become a major focus for media industries. Bristol offers a quality of life far above many other major cities. The harbour area continues to be developed, and the old city is beautifully restored. Bristol is the south west's premier shopping city, there being not just one main centre but several diverse shopping areas each with their own individual character. Bristol, and the countryside around the city, offers conference delegates an excellent range of quality accommodation ranging from stylish 'designer' hotels, to comfortable family run guest accommodation, international four star hotels, to comfortable self catering suites.
